Proverbs Day 43

Proverbs 7:1-3(KJV):

"My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. 3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart."

Thought for the day:

We can see how important that it is to know the Word of God, and why Proverbs 7:2-3 tells us that they will cause us to live, if we keep them as the apple of our eye and write them on the tables of our heart. That means we should desire to know the Word of God with our whole heart. The people in those days recorded things differently than we do today. Writing on tables means to write on a tablet, which at that time could of been the face of a stone, or a board or something similar. The meaning is for us to engrave or memorize God's Word so we know it by heart.  Bind them on thy fingers has the same kind of meaning.   We must keep the Word of God close at hand, so we can read it and know it, and most of all, live it!
